1.4mn US troops on global active duty: Pentagon

Official figures released by the Pentagon show that about 1.4 million US soldiers are currently on active duty around the world.

According to the data, a fifth of the troops – about 200,000 – have placed their boots on the soil of at least 150 countries in different continents.

The figures are based on statistics collected since September 30, 2012.

The US has sent its soldiers to European, Asian, and Persian Gulf states, among others.

Some 66,000 US soldiers, the highest number of American troops stationed in a foreign country, are currently in Afghanistan.

Analysts say the so-called war on terror has been used as an excuse to send US soldiers to countries such as Afghanistan.

Over 50,930 US soldiers are also in Japan. More than 47,760 are on duty in Germany, 27,500 in South Korea, and at least 10,920 in Italy.

US troops are also stationed in Spain, the UK, Kyrgyzstan, Belgium, Cuba, and Turkey. The United States has even sent a noticeable number of troops to Bahrain and Kuwait.

Washington says the soldiers are deployed overseas to pursue US interests across the world. The US claims its military presence is necessary in order to protect its allies.

However, a rise in civilian deaths and rape cases has caused public anger in several host countries.

Meanwhile, the White House deployed Predator drones to Niger on Friday, setting up a new drone base in Africa, a continent not mentioned in the list provided by the Pentagon. The move is seen as a way for Washington to increase its influence in Africa and become involved in the war on Mali.

Can’t anyone put two and two together? 1.4 million troops in 150 countries and the US is the largest debtor nation in the world. Duh!

Let the Sequester cuts began andthe DOD take it’s hits. Most of those boots in foreign countries are not needed there, except for the United States Nation Building philosophy and that needs to stop. Retire all those Admirals, Generals, Colonels and high paid Civilians who are killing trees at the Pentagon and that would go a long way to meeting the spending cuts. We need to reprioritize our National Defense Strategy and then tailor the branches of the military to meet it. That would mean a lot less manpower, tanks, ships and jet planes. It is time that the DOD and Federal Government both got in touch with the 21st Century and stop living in the past. We can no longer afford that luxury.

Why would so many troops be placed out of CONUS? So they cannot be her in CONUS to protect their families when the US Government decided to send in the UN Troops to attack Americans on home soil. It is coming folks prepare for the genocide.
The US Government will strand these boys and their families will be massacred.
If and when the financial system fails these boys will be left in foreign countries where they are not wanted and they will be massacred as well.
Lyndon Baines Johnson refused to support the USS Liberty when she was attacked by our Israel “allies” and was quoted in saying “I want that goddamned ship at the bottom of the sea.”

The Zionist infiltration of the American Government is complete.
How can 500 political Elite control 315 million Americans? Because we allow it!
