Is U.S. Trying To Save Agent Mehsud?

The Americans do not want Pakistanis to capture Baitullah Mehsud alive, and they cannot eliminate him with an air strike anymore since Pakistan Army is advancing towards him already. They will either take him out before he is captured, or he will mysteriously disappear only to re-emerge later at a different location. The U.S. military has moved troops near Mehsud’s area under the pretext of finding Osama or Mullah Omar. This is a deception. They have been saying Osama is in Pakistan for years. Why haven’t they acted earlier? This American move has something to do with Pakistani military’s march to destroy Mehsud and his proxy militia. We already know that terrorists are using American weapons to kill us while pretending to be Taliban. The Pakistani military better watch out what our ally is up to this time.

Pakistan Should Exploit American Desperation

This is the time for Islamabad to exploit Washington’s desperation. SecDef Robert Gates is pleading Asia to support America’s failed Afghan project, while his colleague the U.S. Treasury Secretary is begging China to continue financing the U.S. government. The Americans are behind a Sunni militant group fighting for secession in Iran’s Balochistan and another ethnic militia in Pakistan’s Balochistan. The U.S. media leak on American weapons going to Afghan militants is a cover-up meant to hide what the Pakistani Army has discovered in Swat, that terrorists are using sophisticated American [and Indian] weapons to kill Pakistanis. Islamabad needs to end the American highhandedness, beginning with limiting CIA outposts in Pakistan.

Begging For Change In Pakistan

The failure of the Pakistani political system is snowballing. It is already clear that last year’s elections and the next ones too will do little to improve the situation. The way Karachi has been paralyzed for the third time since November indicates that this effort is organized and predetermined. If anyone needs evidence of the irreversible failure of our political system, and the twisted democracy spawned by it, this is it.  We have groups that can hardly be described as political parties in the western definition of democracy that are generating ethnic friction and hate as a legitimate tool of politics, at a time when Pakistan faces a region-wide destabilization emanating from Afghanistan.

Pakistan’s Lawyers Movement: Who Achieved What?

The Lawyers’ Movement initially began as a results of the actions taken by General Pervez Musharraf on 9th March, 2007. Pervez Musharraf, after getting intelligence that Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry was conspiring with Nawaz Sharif to overthrow the government called for a meeting and asking him to resign or face “charges of misconduct”. The Chief Justice refused to resign and preferred to defend the charges. Within two months the movement took the path of Color Revolution, getting enormous funds from USA and other countries with the main aim of destabilizing Pakistan and forcing Parvez Musharraf out of office. The organization and publicity of the entire campaign is calculated to have cost around Rs. 30 billion. How much did this cost Pakistan? There is no work done, however, a good estimate would be around US$ 100 billion.

Inside, the stage is designed for fun and games. Loyal “supporters” of President Zardari’s cabinet ministers whipped up the limo and the party was on. The custodians of Pakistan’s destiny gyrated, shook their butts and roared with laughter and pleasure as the greenbacks flew, just as they do in the great “mujras” here. Mr Qamar-uz-Kaira and Mr Nazar Gondal, surrounded by their loving friends, had a blast. The reports say that by the time the party was over $16,000 had been thrown into the Big Apple’s stratosphere. Not bad for a mission that went without shame to beg for more US aid.”

Video: Peace & Prosperity or War & Inflation?

In a passionate appeal to Congress Ron Paul unmasked the real causes of rising energy prices: inflation, and fear about a possible attack on Iran by Israel and/or the US. He went on to criticize Israel’s massive war propaganda effort which is based on what may well turn out to be lies, and warned against a coming resolution (S.RES.580) which, if passed, is going to basically “shut down” Iran by hitting it with massive sanctions, boycotts and embargoes.

History shows that choking and all-encompassing embargoes such as this one might well be designed to provoke a desperate response (like Pearl Harbor or 9/11) which could then be used to shore up public support for a forceful counter attack.

U.S. bankruptcy filings up 37% last month

U.S. consumer bankruptcy filings soared 37 percent in May compared with the same period last year, according to figures released Tuesday by the American Bankruptcy Institute.

Is California The Next GM?

With GM’s bankruptcy no longer hanging over Wall Street, perhaps now investors can get their minds right for some really bad news. We’re talking about the looming bankruptcy of California, of course, and of at least a few more big-budget states whose books are in equally disastrous shape, including New York, Arizona, New Jersey, Nevada, Rhode Island and Florida. All told, the 50 states are looking at budget shortfalls totaling $350 billion over the next two-and-a-half years, according to the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities.

Draft Emergency Action Program For California

The budget crisis in California and most other states plus the bankruptcy and collapse of the US auto industry are signals that the United States and the world are sinking into an economic depression of awesome destructive power. Who should pay for this depression? Clearly the Wall Street, Chicago, and San Francisco bankers and speculators who caused the crisis must pay. There are limitations on what any state can do, but we here in California can and must take a stand for a real economic recovery. We must grab the attention of the corrupt Sacramento and Washington politicians and start to lead this country out of the crisis.

US to sell ‘bunker buster’ bombs to South Korea

America has agreed to sell “bunker-buster” bombs to South Korea capable of destroying underground facilities in North Korea. The 19-ft-long, 5,000lb bombs can penetrate over 20ft of concrete and 100ft of earth and could be used to target North Korea’s intricate system of military bunkers and a series of munitions tunnels along the border.
