Swine Flu: Readying Americans for Dangerous, Mandatory Vaccinations
At least three US federal laws should concern all Americans and suggest what may be coming – mandatory vaccinations for hyped, non-existant threats, like H1N1 (Swine Flu). Vaccines and drugs like Tamiflu endanger human health but are hugely profitable to drug company manufacturers.
The Project BioShield Act of 2004 (S. 15) became law on July 21, 2004 “to provide protections and countermeasures against chemical, radiological, or nuclear agents that may be used in a terrorist attack against the United States by giving the National Institutes of Health contracting flexibility, infrastructure improvements, and expediting the scientific peer review process, and streamlining the Food and Drug Administration approval process of countermeasures.”

NYC Officials Say 12 Now Dead Of Swine Flu In City
The number of deaths related to swine flu in New York City has reached double digits, with 12 deaths since the outbreak began in April in Queens, health officials said Wednesday.
The updated total – with three more deaths linked to the H1N1 virus – came before the city’s new health commissioner, Dr. Thomas Farley, is to give his first public report on swine flu at a City Council hearing Thursday.

Pakistan, A Sleeping Superpower
In the 60s the building that we all know as Habib Bank Plaza in Karachi was the tallest building all the way from the Middle East down to Singapore. In the 1960s almost every army, navy and air force in the Middle East was manned by Pakistani officers and men. We literally raised those armed forces. Many airlines that operate from the Gulf have actually been trained, organized and manned by PIA. Sure, Pakistan has fallen on tough times. But let all Pakistanis take strength from the fact that this great country needs to be put back on the track from which it got derailed in the 1960s. US Planned to Buy Bombed Peshawar Hotel
Given that reputation, the hotel was an obvious target for militants — even before a report surfaced two weeks ago that the United States was planning to buy the hotel as part of a plan to greatly expand its diplomatic presence in the city. As the Press Trust of India reported on Tuesday, the Pearl Continental is currently owned by Sadruddin Hashwani, who also owns the Marriott Hotel in Islamabad, which was bombed last September, resulting in more than 50 deaths.

Why the Taliban won’t take over Pakistan
The Pakistani military did launch a major counteroffensive that has sent 2 million people fleeing their homes. For now, both the US and many Pakistanis appear to be relieved that the military has drawn a line at least somewhere, in this case in the fruit orchards of the Swat Valley and the city of Mingora, north of Islamabad.
Yet Pakistani analysts and officials here caution that the casus belli of all the commotion – the infamous 60 miles and the threat of an imminent Taliban takeover – is overblown. The Visigoths are not about to overrun the gates of Rome. Bearded guys with fistfuls of AK-47s are not poised to breeze into Islamabad on the back of white Toyota pickups.

The US is a virtual supermarket for terrorists and foreign governments seeking high-end military technology, including components that can be used to build nuclear weapons and equip militants fighting US and British troops, the American government has found.
Over the past year, government investigators posing as private buyers purchased military-grade body armour, technology to stabilise and steer guided missiles, a device that can be used to detonate nuclear weapons, and other munitions through legal means in the US. They evaded export controls and posted dummy versions of the gear to countries known as trans-shipment points for terrorist groups and foreign governments seeking arms and weapons components.

North Korea: US may provoke nuclear war in Peninsula
North Korean media hints that a US pledge to extend its nuclear umbrella to Japan and South Korea would be considered as ‘declaration of a nuclear war’ in the troubled peninsula.
The commentary, which first appeared in the official newspaper of the ruling Workers’ Party of Korea on Wednesday, strongly condemned the expansion of the nuclear umbrella in Southeast Asia.

Israel’s Defense Minister says the flames of the next Israeli war would engulf a ‘broader’ region while admitting that Israelis must be ready to pay a higher price in terms of losses.

China becomes world’s second military spender
China has emerged as the world’s second military spender after the US with an estimated spending of 84.9 billion dollars in 2008.
The Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) reported on Monday that China had increased its arms spending by 10 percent as Beijing commenced building a new range of highly sophisticated nuclear submarines, stealth warships, new generation of fighter planes and communications technology.

Surging Unemployment in the US
Surging unemployment in the U.S. will delay a recovery in consumer spending and mute the rebound when it does materialize, according to a Bloomberg News survey.
The jobless rate will climb to 10 percent by the end of 2009, 1.6 percentage points higher than projected at the start of the year, according to the median forecast of 62 economists surveyed from June 1 to June 8. Household purchases will drop this year more than previously estimated.
