First, tho, we have to correct an error. Prophet Daniel lived in the 6th century BC (around -600 to -530) not in 333BC. You can check this fact easily. Many of the forecasts of the ‘major (Israelite) prophets’ pertained to the return of the Jews to Jerusalem, which in fact, took place about 70 years after their original exile to Babylon. Other prophecies were strictly conditional– they would only happen IF the people of Israel followed the covenant God made thru Moses. It is clear that they failed to obey the covenant, because they were defeated and dispersed by the Romans in 70 AD… exactly as prophesied by Jesus (pbuh). However, ironically, the reappearance of Israel on the world scene in 1948 is a fulfillment of Biblical prophecy. See Revelation 13:3-8. However, the writer errs in stating that Daniel lived ca. 333 BC. In fact, he lived about 600 BC, which can be verified by his own prophecies concerning the coming Messiah, Jesus. See Daniel 9, vs 24&25; and note that a 'week' (literally a 'seven') is symbolic of 7 years; thus 'seventy sevens' = 490 years in the future. Also, the 2300 'days' of Dan 8:14 have been puzzling scholars for centuries-- there are numerous theories, but few solid conclusions. Regards.
