Could you ever imagine being robbed by the government to pay for its out of control spending? This may become a reality. Bloomberg has reported that “Obama May Levy Carbon Tax to Cut U.S. Deficit.”

The article reads:

Barack Obama may consider introducing a tax on carbon emissions to help cut the U.S. budget deficit after winning a second term as president, according to HSBC Holdings Plc.

A tax starting at $20 a metric ton of carbon dioxide equivalent and rising at about 6 percent a year could raise $154 billion by 2021, Nick Robins, an analyst at the bank in London, said today in an e-mailed research note, citing Congressional Research Service estimates. “Applied to the Congressional Budget Office’s 2012 baseline, this would halve the fiscal deficit by 2022,” Robins said.

According to the Center for Climate and Energy Solutions in Arlington, Virginia, Obama and the United States Congress should consider a carbon tax to meet the government’s need for revenue.

So, the remaining question I have for you, the reader, is does it make any sense for the government to steal the fruits of your labor to pay for its bad spending habits? A carbon tax will steal your hard earned money more than the income tax already does.

It’s already been imposed in Australia since July this year ……. Before that time we had it repeatedly pushed on us through all forms of media, now we hear absolutely nothing as everybody has just accepted it i.e. electricity prices increasing out of control whereby people can’t pay the bill, increased fuel prices food prices etc. etc.
