Man Executed By Cops While Wearing Headphones, Unable To Hear Their Orders

A 20-year-old man was executed by the Salt Lake City police last week while walking out of a local 7-Eleven. The Salt Lake City police began searching the area for a suspect who was allegedly waving a gun in that area.

Man Executed By Cops While Wearing Headphones, Unable To Hear Their Orders

Dylan Taylor was wearing headphones when the police began to give orders to him at his friends. As the three young men were leaving the convenience store, they were surrounded by officers who ordered them to show their hands. Two of the men heard the orders and quickly complied. But Taylor, who had his headphones on listening to music, did not hear the officers and kept walking. He was then savagely gunned down by at least one officer. Taylor was unarmed.

The 3 officers who were involved in the shooting and on the scene, are reportedly on paid vacations. It is still unclear how many officers fired at Taylor or how many times he was shot. “They were obviously upset their friend had been shot and kept screaming for him to wake up, and he never did.

He died in the parking lot, they were saying he did not have a gun, and they were very upset because of that,” a witness told KSL. The victim’s brother, Jerrail Taylor and Adam Thayne were both taken into custody and questioned throughout the evening. Both men maintain Taylor was unarmed and simply went to pull up his pants when shots were fired. Both men were eventually released and no arrests were made.

It was later reported that Taylor had warrants, however Sgt. Darren Sweeten said it is unlikely that the officers knew who he was prior to shooting him. However, after hearing of this, Salt Lake City Tribune quickly moved forward to demonize the victim. Their most recent headline on the case read, “SLC Police fatally shoot wanted fugitive outside 7-Eleven.” Yet another story of Trigger Happy Cops.

Sorry to hear about this young man being executed by the police. The family should consider filing a civil rights violation suit.
