NY Times: Weary of War, but Favoring Airstrike Plan

What a difference a year makes. And what a difference a pair of fake You Tube ‘beheading’ videos makes.
It was exactly one year ago that the strong hand of Vladimir Putin, backed by his Chinese friends, coupled with American public opinion to force Obongo and Secretary of State FrankenKerry to suddenly back away from what, at the time, seemed like an almost certain attack upon Syria.
The American people were so opposed to a new war that many of them lit up White House and Congressional switchboards with angry phone calls running 20 to 1 against. Others turned out at ‘townhall’ meetings to warn their Congressmen and Senators against going to war in Syria.

But with a suddenly diverted Russia now being menaced by NATO in eastern Europe, and with China faced with increasingly belligerent US puppets in the form of Japan, Vietnam and Philippines, all it took to bring us back to where we were last year was a pair of the phoniest, most amateurish, most comical, most ridiculous You Tube videos you will ever see. It is almost surreal to realize that these goofy stunts, featuring ‘bogeymen’ in black and ‘journalists’ wearing US standard-issue orange prison jump suits, really worked.
But that’s Boobus Americanus for you. If it’s on TV, it must be true!
Both fake ‘beheading’ videos cut away just as the throats of the strangely calm ‘victims’ are about to be cut by the really bad actors in black. The ‘victims’ didn’t even squirm! Intense media pressure builds for Obama to “do something” in order to “stop them”.
As the NY Post headline says: “This Won’t Stop Until We Stop Them.” Indeed, what moral, self-respecting American would dare to oppose the bombing of the wicked ‘beheaders’ of ISIS (Israeli Secret Iintelligence Service)? There were no calls and E-mails to DC this time around, and no angry townhall outbursts either.
And who cares that Syria has repeatedly warned that it will consider unauthorized bombings on its territory as an act of aggression? Dr. Assad isn’t stupid. He knows what this dirty game is all about. So do the Russians and so do the Chinese.
Look out Mr. Assad, the heroic American “rescuers” are coming not for ISIS, but for you. Good luck sir.
