School Force Feeds Garbage to Kid with Healthy Lunch, Parents Fined

A Canadian mother in Manitoba got a note from the school in her child’s lunch box notifying of a fine for providing an unbalanced meal, which the school supplemented with Ritz Crackers.

The 2012 fine was recently reported on by WeightMatters.ca:

Apparently if a child’s lunch is deemed “unbalanced”, where “balance” refers to ensuring that a lunch conforms to the proportions of food groups as laid out by Canada’s awful Food Guide, then that child’s lunch is “supplemented”, and their parent is fined.

Blog reader Kristen Bartkiw received just such a fine.

….

As Kristen writes, had she sent along lunches consisting of, “microwave Kraft Dinner and a hot dog, a package of fruit twists, a Cheestring, and a juice box” those lunches would have sailed right through this idiocy. But her whole food, homemade lunches?

They lacked Ritz Crackers.

Public schools now dictate what children must eat for lunch in the area because of the Manitoba Government’s Early Learning and Child Care lunch regulations, according to WeightyMatters.

This is also happening in the United States where in some cases lunches from home are banned altogether. These students are force fed meals by bureaucrats who consider pizza a vegetable.

“Was the government to prescribe to us our medicine and diet, our bodies would be in such keeping as our souls are now.” – Thomas Jefferson.
