I agree that Great Britain needs major overall political reform – get rid of the monarchy. If they are such tourist attraction, let the tourist pay levy to come and watch them. I hardly think anyone would spend money and travel to England just to see the royals. As it is one can hardly walk by the checkouts without seeing annoying headlines and pictures of their newborns, their weddings, their jubilees while I see people in shopping malls comparing prices of food and items, anything will do as long as it is cheaper. We are not useless eaters and damn anyone who so much as thinks that.

i have no problem with idea of royalty or its existence. and beyond their role as "royalty" at least the public eye is on them… more then can be said for most family elites who still crawl deep in the shadows of government.
