Cop Says to Terrified Woman After Shattering Her Car Window: “You wouldn’t comply”

“Because I said so, that’s why.”

That is the creed of authoritarians and thugs in jackboots the world over and that was basically what occurred in this traffic stop gone terribly wrong.

A simple traffic violation ended up with an angry cop shattering a terrified woman’s car window and forcing her to the pavement face down simply because she only wanted to roll the window down half way. In true “serve and protect fashion” the officer said to terrified woman, “If you don’t open the window I”m going to break the window.”

Cop Says to Terrified Woman After Shattering Her Car Window “You wouldn’t comply”

The woman made no attempt to roll the window up on his fingers. She didn’t wave around a weapon. She didn’t attempt to put the car into gear and flee. She kept her hands in plain sight on the steering wheel throughout the encounter (until, of course, she was cringing away from the flying glass). She simply refused to open the window all the way, a tactic that is often recommended to women alone when they are in a situation with police that makes them feel uncomfortable. This particular cop must have missed the PSA advising women to be cautious because her attempt to politely maintain her safety apparently enraged him.

When the woman calmly and reasonably asked why he insisted the window be rolled down more than halfway, while steadfastly refusing to cave to his raised voice and threats, the uniformed bully escalated, shattering her window and sending glass all over her as she visibly cringed away from him. She was then dragged from the car and placed face down on the pavement before being cuffed.

When she asked why, the answer was simply, “You wouldn’t comply.”

I suppose this cop would get suspended for four days with pay too?

Authority does not replace morality. The officer ASSumed that she would close the window the video proves otherwise. Destruction of private property is a crime. She asked reasonable questions and he did not answer them. His problem not hers. He also seemed to be making up laws as he went on.
Who was the real law breaker here?

Unless she has some type of support (family/friends), she won’t file a complaint WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT SHE NEEDS TO DO! As I mentioned earlier, a complaint should be filed with the Mayor’s Office, the Chief of Police (send that one a day later so the mayor reads it first).
I HAVE done this; and it does work!

and what exactly is that lil complaint supposed to do? reverse this police state of a country?? even if 20,000 complaints went in on the same day, that would not be the outcome. -_-…wishful thinking, but a very small band-aid on a severed limb.

WE ARE LIVING IN A POLICE STATE NOW, DEAL WITH IT.
EVER SINCE OUR POLICE FORCES BECAME MILITARIZED THE LOW IQ ROGUES IN THE DEPARTMENTS DISCOVERED POWER. THEY ARE NOTHING MORE THAN THUGS WITH A BADGE AND A GUN. CIVILIAN OVERSIGHT COMMISSIONS ARE NEEDED TO WEED THESE BULLIES OUT AND GET THEM BEHIND BARS WITH THE GENERAL POPULATION.. THE SAME HAPPENED UNDER HITLER IN GERMANY IN THE LATE 30S AND THIS SHOULD BE A WARNING TO US.

Not quite yet. I know “A-Hole cops” like that! They have been around for a very long time. They don’t need an excuse to show THEY ARE THE MAN WITH THE BADGE.

I don’t know what to think on this one. She was being uncooperative and I can see where that would make the officer perturbed but here’s her ace in the hole. He could not quote the law that made his demand a lawful order. Any request of a police officer is not lawful. A leo HAS to be able to explain his/her jurisdiction or authority to order compliance. She’s got a case.

She really does need to file a complaint with the Mayor, the City Council and send a carbon copy to the Chief of Police.
SHE WILL GET ACTION ON THIS

Oh! One little edit….BEFORE she sends a copy to the Police Dept. Chief….she needs to wait a day or so. Why? The Mayor, City Council will get it first!
      — and while we are on a roll —–
Mail the same letter to the local TV stations. SHE WILL GET AN APOLOGY. Why I know? I have done it!

EVER SINCE THE MILITARIZATION OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENTS THE “SERVE AND PRPTECT” WENT OUT THE WINDOW AND ALL THE LOW IQ ROGUES ARE HAVING A BALL. DOES NOT SURPRISE ME THAT COPS GET KILLED EVERY NOW AND THEN.
HOPE THIS LADY SUED THIS ASS FOR WILLFUL DESTRUCTION OF PRIVATE PROPERTY.

so we should be literally terrified of police officers in the usa now? they are giving us no reasons to think or feel otherwise…smh, such a sad sad day in time -_-.

I live in an area where we have realllly great police officers. However, 3 Blocks down when my city limit ends, we are in a different town. They are all like this cop.

I can explain it in very simple terms. It is the toxic version of the “Bush Trickle Down Effect” Bush was talking about the economy. Law enforcement on all levels? The problem begins at the top and trickles down to the behavior of the officers.
