Entertainment part of brainwashing effort against 2nd Amendment

It is no secret Hollywood is loaded with liberal movie moguls and directors.

Last January we reported on uber-lib movie producer and Obama supporter Harvey Weinstein bragging he would produce a film attacking the Second Amendment and targeting the National Rifle Association. Weinstein told Howard Stern the NRA would “wish they weren’t alive after I’m done with them.”

“I don’t think we need guns in this country. And I hate it,” he added.

Around the same time Weinstein was railing against the Second Amendment Obama visited the DreamWorks studio and ministrated his anti-gun message to the choir. He instructed the Hollywood execs to “think long and hard” about the message gunplay often gratuitously portrays in movies.

“We gotta make sure that we’re not glorifying it,” Obama lectured. He told the executives they have a “big responsibility” to a movie-going public. “Because the stories you tell shape our children’s outlook and their lives.”

In lieu of Weinstein’s promised anti-Second Amendment epic, “Cloverfield” director Matt Reeves produced a film with a distinctly anti-gun subtext. “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” is now in theaters and it has some Second Amendment advocates crying foul.

“You’d have to be pretty obtuse to miss the pro-gun-control subtext attached to misdeeds on both sides of the man-monkey battle,” writes Guy Lodge for Variety. “The ‘Apes’ franchise has always been a politically loaded one.”

“Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” is a direct attack on the very foundation of the Second Amendment. The film portrays apes acquiring firearms for the purpose of revolution – with disastrous consequence. The Second Amendment and the guarantee of the English Bill of Rights of 1689 that proceed it ensured the right to bear arms in defense against the state.

“The 2nd Amendment, contrary to much of today’s conversation, has just as much to do with the people protecting themselves from tyranny as it does burglars,” writes Erick Erickson. “That is why there is so little common ground about assault rifles — even charitably ignoring the fact that there really is no such thing. If the 2nd Amendment is to protect the citizenry from even their own government, then the citizenry should be able to be armed.”

This concept is opposed by the Hollywood liberal elite on a visceral and irrational level. As Weinstein demonstrated, the elite believe the American people not only do not have a right to firearms, they in fact cannot be trusted to possess them even for the sake of self-defense. Liberals believe in the highest maxim of the state — only it may have a monopoly of violence.

The anti-Second Amendment – indeed, the anti-natural rights – Hollywood elite will continue their screed against the Second Amendment. Obama’s admonishment – to de-glorify the use of firearms – will be used to brainwash an already largely brainwashed populace on the evil of the right to bear arms.
