Incredible Footage Shows Pilot Wave With Relief After Heart-Stopping Storm Doris Landing At Manchester Airport

The Monarch flight can be seen swooping into the airport in winds reaching speeds of 50mph
This amazing clip shows a brave pilot giving a wave of relief as he lands his flight while Storm Doris batters Manchester Airport.

The Monarch flight, travelling from Innsbruck, can be seen swooping into the airport in winds reaching speeds of 50mph.

It finally stabilises and continues down the runway.

Afterwards, the pilot can be seen waving enthusiastically in the Manchester Evening News clip.

A spokeswoman from Manchester Airport said it remains operational, with landings and take-offs still taking place.
However, the weather is causing delays to arrivals and departures.

A number of flights have been unable to land and have diverted to Leeds, Heathrow and Glasgow.

On average, flights are delayed by about an hour.

Train services have also been disrupted due to trees obstructing the line and problems with overhead wires.
Virgin Trains services between Manchester Piccadilly and London Euston are running on reduced speeds of 50mph.

As a result a number of train services between the two stations have been cancelled.
