    Nuclear war is not winnable
It is assured destruction on both sides and the fall out will take many other countries that did not participate
We are no longer in the age of nagasaki and heroshima type bombs
What weapons are around today make the old bombs look like fire crackers

  2. begränsat says:

Basically, in order to survive the worst case scenario you have to: 1) live under ground or underwater, 2) be highly resistant to buckets of radiation, 3) not be particularly bothered by losing the sun for a while, and 4) not be particularly sad about the surface of the Earth burning and then freezing (or continuing to burn, just not as much.  Some of the jury is still out).

Bluff 1. To engage in a false display of confidence or aggression in order to deceive or intimidate someone. 2. To make a display of aggression, as by charging or baring the teeth, as means of intimidating another animal.
                                    – The Free Dictionary

Nuclear Blackmail is a form of nuclear strategy in which an aggressor uses the threat of use of nuclear weapons to force an adversary to perform some action or make some concessions. It is a type of extortion.
                                    – Wikipedia

During the Munich Security Conference on Friday, British Defense Secretary Michael Fallon told Reuters of a three-fold concern. First, he said, the Russians “may have lowered the threshold” for using nuclear weapons. Second, he said, the Russians are “integrating nuclear with conventional forces in a rather threatening way….” Third, he said, “at a time of fiscal pressure they are keeping up their expenditure on modernizing their nuclear forces.” (See the Reuters story: UK concerned over ‘threatening’ Russian nuclear strategy.)

The Guardian headline on Friday showed a picture of Russian President Vladimir Putin with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and President Francois Hollande of France.

The headline was, Fear of Vladimir Putin grows in EU capitals amid spectre of ‘total war’ – which included a disturbing comment from an EU diplomat in Brussels that arming Ukraine would trigger a war with Russia, and Russia was bound to win the war.
Here is our destination. We have traveled a long road, believing the Russian lies, and now we have arrived. We have helped the Russians attain a new supremacy.

We have aided them every step of the way. We believed in perestroika and glasnost. We flattered ourselves by claiming victory in the Cold War. We took the bait of 9/11, fell for the Islamist diversionary attack, and here we are – unable to oppose the Russians and (as we will soon find out) the Chinese.

This is the point which defector Anatoliy Golitsyn warned about in his 1984 book, New Lies for Old:

The scissors strategy [of previous decades] would give way to the strategy of ‘one clenched fist.’ At that point the shift in the political and military balance would be plain for all to see. Convergence would not be between two equal parties, but would be on terms dictated by the communist bloc.

The argument for accommodation with the overwhelming strength of communism would be virtually unanswerable. Pressures would build up for changes in the American political and economic system …. Traditional conservatives would be isolated and driven toward extremism. They might become the victims of a new McCarthyism of the left. [page 346]

  4. I'm American…. Here's an idea!! How about we worry about our own problems, I.e. infrastructure, homelessness, unemployment, economy and etc., and let all the other countries do the same?!!
I'm not saying we avoid foreign policies, humanitarian aid, common interests and threats, etc., but the U.S. needs to stay out of foreign affairs/problems, and let them take care of their own!! For too long we have put trillions of dollars, lives of our military men n women at risk, and our own homeland at risk. Not only of collapse, but the inability to to protect our own borders and our own citizens. We don't need and in most cases belong or are not wanted/needed in the problems or affairs of other nations unless our own security is at risk!!!! It's way over due that we need a leader that will worry and put our own problems at the top of the agenda, and leave other countries alone to do the same!! God bless America, and God help us all!! I pray for us all, because regardless of race, creed, or religion, we are all brothers and sisters. Let's find a way to stop the madness and create mutual respect and peace!! Thank you for your time.

  5. Now this is a "real" journalist.
    He speaks the truth.
A foreign land to most of the shit that sell their ass to the BBC,CNN,FOX etc

    God bless this man.

  6. Oleg Chmelev says:

Western policy in "Ukraine" ignores the most basic realities of that region – Russian lands, where the fighting is now going on, have been transferred under Ukrainian administrative control by the communist regime against the wishes of the population. Lugansk and Donetsk, where the fighting is now going on, have been transferred in 1922, Crimea in 1954.
In addition to the most basic self-determination issue, a big reason for discontent are the language policies of the Kiev government; there are 17% Ukrainians overall in the so-called "Ukraine" and 83% Russians and yet the official use of Russian language is not allowed, all Russian TV channels are banned; you would not find a single road sign in Russian! Such language policies are without parallels in the civilized world!
In Canada, as a contrast, 75% of English speakers are not trying to impose on 25% of French speakers, the country is fully bilingual.
Here is a map, which shows which Russian territories have been given to Ukraine over the period of time since reunification of 1654:
