North Korea states ‘nuclear war is unavoidable’ as it declares first target will be Japan

NORTH KOREA has warned Japan that Tokyo would be the first target in the event of a war on the Korean Peninsula, as it increased threats of an attack.

In a commentary carried by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), the communist country lashed out at Tokyo’s standing orders to destroy any missile heading toward Japan, threatening such actions will result in a nuclear attack against the island nation.

If Japan executes its threat to shoot down any North Korean missile, such a “provocative” intervention would see Tokyo — an enormous conurbation of 30 million people — “consumed in nuclear flames”, KCNA warned.

North Korea states 'nuclear war is unavoidable' as it declares first target will be Japan

“Japan is always in the cross-hairs of our revolutionary army and if Japan makes a slightest move, the spark of war will touch Japan first,” the report added.

An official at Japan’s defence ministry said that the country “will take every possible measure to respond to any scenario”, while the US Secretary of State John Kerry warned that a North Korean missile launch would be a “huge mistake”.

“The rhetoric that we are hearing from North Korea is simply unacceptable by any standards,” he told a news conference in Seoul alongside South Korean Foreign Minister Yun Byung-Se.

“The United States, South Korea and the entire international community… are all united in the fact that North Korea will not be accepted as a nuclear power,” Kerry added.

However, the North has declared it is “confident of final victory” against its enemies.

“The enemies should know that it is the era of the great Marshal Kim Jong Un, leader of the most powerful country and invincible great Paektusan nation,” KCNA stated.

“The DPRK has won victories in confrontation with the U.S. in spirit and is waging an all-out action with it, with confidence in final victory.”

The torrent of war cries is seen outside Pyongyang as an effort to raise fears and pressure Seoul and Washington into changing their North Korea policies, and to show the North Korean people that their young leader is strong enough to stand up to powerful foes.

South Korea fears Pyongyang could launch now launch multiple missiles after weeks of threats, according to local reports.

Observers believe a launch is most likely in the build-up to Monday’s anniversary of the birth of late founder Kim Il-Sung, for which celebrations are already well under way in Pyongyang.

The Korean Peninsula has “been reduced to the biggest nuclear hotspot in the world”, the North said in more fiery rhetoric today, “making the outbreak of a nuclear war on this land unavoidable.”

The reclusive state is dedicated to “defending the sovereignty and dignity of the country with its own strike mode and means,” it said.

“No force on earth can block the just cause of the army and people of the DPRK,” the chilling message concluded.

he may want to strike japan first cause of the the nuclear plant being there, or who knows….but what we do know is that he has absolutely nothing to lose, has lots to prove, young and dumb, raised by a lunatic, and has way too many big dangerous toys for his own good that he would love to have a ball with. I think we should be more concerned with what we DO know, how bout you?

    • Adam says:

Exactly. He’s operating emotionally. The brains on the ground find it difficult to judge what he will do as he is not making moves strategically or rationally. They just don’t know what his next move is going to be. But the rhetoric is past the point of return if he wants to be taken seriously as a leader. If he DOESN’T follow through he’s going to experience a yawn heard round the world by every world power out there forever more. No threats will work. Because he has proved he doesn’t have the juevos to back his smack. That means he has nothing to barter with ever again. They can completely ignore him, never give him another thing and he won’t do shit. He’s all talk. The problem is I think he knows this.

Now, he is saying since this report that he is willing to work with world powers, but ONLY as a nuclear power. Which that forces our hand. We have said over and over and over and over and over and over….that we will NEVER let DPRK become nuclear equipped. Which they are of course but not in a major way. Then again it only takes one. But there is a face problem. If WE cave and allow him to be a nuclear power, it tells all these other little shit countries that want nukes that “Hey, we don’t have to worry about America. All we have to do is threaten a nuclear incident on their assets and they’ll cave.” To let DPRK become a nuclear power would be a extremely dangerous precedent to set.

We are KIND OF in a no win situation. We either play ball with them and show ourselves as weak to every other little dick tater’s countries or we follow through with our promise to not let them become a nuclear power. Which will eventually lead to an exchange. And that will be the lynchpin that fires up a WW3 scenario. For when we blow Pyongyang to hell, then China gets pissed at us for destroying a major lackey. AND they start feeling like an attack on THEM is imminent as we will then have them surrounded strategically. That sets up a Russian involvement. As Russia feels we are breathing down their necks as well. In fact Russia recently done a dry run bombing of our Missile Defense Shield in SE Asia. If Russia takes out our defense shield, that will be a shot heard round the world. Not to mention we have totally forgotten about the whole Israel/Iran problem and the Iranian/Russian defense pact and the Israeli/American defense pact.

Do you see how we are treading water? Something is going to break real soon. And it’s interesting that Obama just decommissioned Texas’ air defense early warning system. And people have dreamed for years that when China attacks it’s not going to be from their shores rather it will be from Mexico. Interesting development in that light to say the least.

A conflict in any of these smaller theaters is going to draw in these other big dogs. We need to be ready with SHTF plans. Cause this one will touch the US.

Sorry, I just asked the same question twice….and it still does NOT make sense.

  5. upaces88 says:

In very simple “to the point terms”, can anyone explain to me what North Korea is so ticked about that they are even considering attacking Japan?

I’m positive this young leader of NK has his eyes squarely on Fukushima which will directly affect the entire northern hemisphere. If ever there is a time to initiate and strike a country first it is now.

  7. Frank says:

The world power need to send a message TODAY to N Korea that if they fire upon any country they will just become one hole in the ground, because all the nuclear powers will launch back and then there will be no longer any North Korea on the world map to have to deal with.

    • Adam says:

It’s a little touchier than that sadly. Very true that America and likely Japan either one could leave a capitol city sized crater in NK. The problem is, out of all the nuclear powers, 2 of them do not want to see that. NK is China’s bitch. They are their second income and people. They are only separated by a invisible line called the border. And they have a defense pact with NK. So like I’ve said other places, it wouldn’t be a war between us and the DPRK. It would be against us and China. And for that matter Russia dry bombed our Missile Defense Shield site in SE Asia the other week. USvsChina/Russia- I don’t like those numbers. That’s 2 nuclear capable countries that are able to hit us at home with nukes in response. Not a good thing to go blowing up cities right now. Something has to break though or something is going to break.

  8. upaces88 says:

Will someone please explain to me why they believe they should hit Japan!?
    This does NOT make sense.

    • Gérard MENGUAL says:

North Korea is locked into four Airspaces: Chinese,Japanese, South Korean and Russian, it means that the missiles will have to violate the Japanese airspace restrictions in order to reach Guam or Okinawa .

    • Adam says:

They figure it may be one of the easiest ways, based on their tech capabilities to hurt the US. Japan is an ally. And a major one. Also one that is very technologically advanced and they have a very good economy. Very much westernized in a lot of respects. They may find it more difficult to hit our west coast with a nuke than to hit Tokyo with one. Tokyo is well within their capacity. And a nuclear strike on Tokyo would force us to retaliate. Much less all the economic upheaval that a nuclear strike on a major urban center would result in.

      • upaces88 says:

Thank you, Adam, for explaining that. I’ll try to tone down what I was realllly going to say. They are NOT that large of a country. They REALLY do NOT want anyone to retaliate against them “in kind.”

I have great faith in Japan. She will not allow this to happen to them again.

You’re welcome. I think though it is a grave error to assume we know what the overstuffed, pissed off chicken hawk (Reference to Foghorn Leghorn lol) does or does not want. Let us think of it from an entirely different and removed perspective. Imagine. A small, industrially ill equipped nation. Agricultural and devoid of anything that could be considered “modern”. In most cases it’s people were poor. Mainly farmers and carpenters for the most part. And imagine this small nation of peoples endeavoring to fight against a well oiled fighting machine. Technologically advanced. Soldiers who were skilled at killing and commanders that knew how to plan troop movements to maximize it’s army’s effectiveness. And yet, even with all the advanced armaments, superior firepower and marksmanship, superior commanders- this rag tag group of people with their iron wills defeated this well oiled machine. It can happen. For it has happened before. For we are that nation. “The rest of the story” if you will to borrow the famous line from Paul Harvey. When we were still a young nation we went up against the British to earn our freedom to live apart from England.

Realize though that I am not saying all things are equal. Ours was a just and noble cause. He’s just wanting to fight. But he IS rallying his people. That can be a problem. The big problem exists if he can rally China to his side in total. Granted they have a defense pact and so they will defend them; but if they win the hearts of the Chinese who are defending them…different story all together. And the conspiracy theorist in me says that somebody else will bankroll his efforts. Which might allow him to operate more or buy more arms. China would like to see us bite it. Russia would like to see us bite it. Saudi would like to see us bite it. And the bankers must collapse OUR economy to implement their new world economy. And God forbid if THEY bankroll it.

I believe in this case we would be wise to heed the words of this oh so young and loud mouthed ruler. Logic dictates that this cat is not bluffing. Reason? Nobody who is a bluffer is going to play his aces all at once if he’s simply trying for raised sanctions or extra rations. He’s going to apply lighter pressure. If not just as loud, but not going as far as what he has in recent weeks. For now, if he doesn’t “back his smack”, he is lost. Because he has no more footing with the US or UN. He has went to the wall with his threats and squelched at the last moment. Never again would he be taken seriously when threatening some action against a country. Never again would he receive the rations for the opposing gov’t will know that he will not act. Period. If Un IS bluffing he’s the biggest dumbass to come out of NK. If he isn’t, we’ve got problems.
