Barack Obama’s $1 million armed Cadillac limousine, nicknamed ‘the Beast’, has broken down in Israel, where it was specially flown in for the President’s visit. Here are eight amazing facts about the car that thinks it’s a tank.
1) ‘The Beast’ is sealed within from the outside world in case of a bio-chemical attack. There is also a steel plate running underneath the car to protect it from roadside bomb attacks.
2) There is a supply blood in the car that matches Barack Obama’s blood type, should POTUS need an emergency blood transfusion.

3) Tear gas cannons and a night vision camera are installed in the front of the vehicle. The Cadillac is also equipped with a Remington shotgun.
4) The boot holds a supply of oxygen and a specially-adapted firefighting system.
5) The tyres are puncture- and shard-resistant, and the car can escape an attack even if a wheel is blasted away due to a steel rim fitted underneath the tyres.
6) The doors weigh as much as a Boeing-757 cabin door and are eight inches thick.
7) The bodywork is made of aluminium, titanium, dual hardness steel and ceramic.
8) The fuel tank is surrounded by foam and is armour-plated to prevent it from exploding should it suffer a direct hit.
