Russia has not yet dropped its plans to deploy missiles in the country’s westernmost Kaliningrad Region postponing this decision untill all threats are fully assessed – says top general. Resetting ties with Russia is apparently among the top priorities for the Barack Obama administration, but on the road to recovery, there lies a huge stumbling block. Russia’s latest short range air defence system, the Pantsir-S1, is the new pride of the Russian military industry. The сombined SAM/gun system can kill any air target, except ballistic missiles.

While many are optimistic about the reset in Russia-US relations, some say there is no change at all. They say there’s a strong lobby in the United States that wants to make sure that Russia is weak, unstable, and controlled by NATO.
