God is both good and evil, he is omnipotent. He created Satan for good not evil, but Satan pick evil in disobedience. Which is why God kicked him out of heaven.
We're living in such a confused mixed up world of good and evil. People are possessed in their minds and thoughts, unless they are connected to God's Love and Light.
God speaks to us indirectly through actions and consequence. If he spoke to us directly it would ruin the idea that you need faith in God. Without faith there is no love, and no love means chaos. That is why Satan is Satan, because he is in fact chaos and hate which is the opposite of love. Choose what you want. I certainly think someone who wants good and does good things is the better one, but then again not every human being has the capacity to have faith.
The only way to defeat evil is to not believe in it. Where does evil come from? It comes from religion as its a religious concept.
Jesus saves and Lucifer Satan destroys. Who will you serve? This battle isn't of flesh and blood.
The devil is a metaphor for the controlling animal mind. For the first time in our history we can rise above the animal mind by learning the fundamental truth of life. We are all in an undeclared war, a war between true life and the distorting animal mind, or god and the devil.
