Daniel Suelo lives in caves in the canyonlands of Utah. He survives by harvesting wild foods and eating roadkill. He has no job, no bank account and does not accept government welfare. In fact, Suelo has no money at all. Suelo may have shunned all the trappings of modern American life, but he is not an isolationist.
Since abandoning money in 2000, the former cook from Moab, Utah has remained an active member of his community and avid blogger.
Mark Sundeen, author of The Man Who Quit Money, admits many people would regard Suelo’s alternative lifestyle as bizarre. But the 2008 financial crash has led many to question the value of money. He explains some of the lessons found in Suelo’s philosophy.

All wealth comes from the ground. You either have to mine it or grow it. For a commodity to have value, it must have value in use, value in exchange and be an object of utility. How can you pay a debt with a debt? Isn’t that fraud? All money that is created today is fiat money or money that is created on a printing press and which we a forced to accept due to the legal tender laws. When the monetary system collapses, it goes back to subsistence farming, animal husbandry, hunters and gatherers and barter. When ever I expose the fraud of the Federal Reserve to the members of congress, they respond with rehortoric and errect smoke screens. I cannot believe that they are that naieve. They either don’t know or they are part of the fraud. I choose to believe the latter. Isn’t that aiding and abetting a criminal enterprise? There is an old saying. You can fool some ot the people some of the time, but you cannot fool all the people all of the time. Like all Ponzi Pyramid scams, they eventually collapse when you can’t get any new suckers into the game to pay the people off at the top. Even in the Torah or Mossaic law there was provisions in it for debt forgiveness every 50 years. All prices and incomes went back to the number of years before the jubilee was declared. Ancient Israel was mainly an agricultural society. The land was never lost. A family member could repurchase it. If none could be found, it went out in the jubilee year to the original owner. If you do not foregive men of their debts, neither will your hevenly father forgive you of your’s. To the International Bankers. The members of congress have sold the people out to International Finance. It’s a debt based money system and the common people that are under this sytem are perpetual debt surf slaves.
