What was this guy thinking? Austin Dawkins, age 37, was pumping gas at a Clarkesville, GA gas station as his wife Jessica approached and for some reason he thought it was a good idea to ignite a cigarette lighter next to the fill spout. The fumes coming out of the spout are naturally going to burst into flames and they did exactly that.
Jessica sustained second and third degree burns to her arms, legs, back and head, as she was immediately completely engulfed in flames. Austin also sustained some minor injuries to his hands.
A warrant has been issued for Dawkins’ arrest under charges of reckless conduct. He faces a maximum possible one year in prison and a fine of a maximum of $1,000 if convicted.
Jessica Dawkins is expected to fully recover.
