President Obama returned to Washington yesterday from his $4 million Hawaiian vacation to solve the fiscal cliff crisis. His first move? Signing an executive order lifting the pay freeze on federal employees. Priorities, baby!
President Barack Obama issued an executive order to end the pay freeze on federal employees, in effect giving some federal workers a raise. One federal worker now to receive a pay increase is Vice President Joe Biden.

Biden will earn $231,900 beginning March 2013, a roughly $6,000 bump from the previous year, The Weekly Standard reports, citing official disclosure forms.
Members of the House and Senate will also get a small pay increase of $900 as annual compensation for members of Congress will jump to $174,900 in 2013.

They may not be huge pay increases, but the timing of the executive order is interesting as Obama and Congress are currently trying to avoid going over the so-called “fiscal cliff. Meanwhile, Americans are tightening their belts and preparing for potentially higher taxes.
Finally, a pay raise seems to indicate that Congress and other federal employees have been doing a good enough job to warrant one. Do you think Congress and federal employees like Joe Biden deserve a raise?
“A new executive order has been issued providing for a new pay schedule beginning ‘on the first day of the first applicable pay period beginning after March 27, 2013,’” reports FedSmith.com. “The pay raise will generally be about 1/2 of 1%.”
Jeryl Bier points to an example of the pay increase for average government executives:
“Not much of an increase, but an increase all the same,” Bier notes.
And the timing isn’t great either: Just as President Obama and Congress try to avert going over the “fiscal cliff,” he doles out pay increases to federal workers.

I don’t mind that federal employees get a raise after a 2 or 3 year freeze. What I do mind is the people higher up like Biden get a chunk. Don’t they get enough with all the perks, The President gets, No rent, no food cost, vintage wines stocked, General account of 50,000, entertainment expenses, entertainment expense for offical government business, free limo, helicopter, jets. Oh and less not forget the fund or unintesipated needs! WHich should not exceed 1 million a year, SAY WHAT ! When they retire from the GOV they still continue to recieve money to help them transition for office staff. 150,000 a year
Oh did I mention that George Bush declined his Pension!
George Washingtion, Herbert Hoover and John F. Kennedy donated theirs to Charity and Ronald Reagan took no salary at all.
Who are we voting into Federal offices that are giving pay increases to Federal employees. What have they done to receive an increase. They are our servants, we should decide if they deserve an increase. Who thinks they did anything for the American people?
Yep! 1.7% to military retirees $30 a month when their taxes will increase from $2300 to $4800 a year. Not much help is it?
However in a failing government just like the failing banking system (planned to fail) we will give amazing pay raises to those who lie and do not deserve any raise at all.
Let us not forget that this last election has reported MAJOR VOTER FRAUD in 17 states so far and nothing will be done.
Obama is an illegal president of that there can be no question. The voter fraud related to military absentee ballots were enough to make Romney president but we also know that was never going to happen.
So at what point did you learn not to trust the system?
Why are you only publishing Executive Pay? It is very misleading. Most federal employees and retirees probably get 1/3 of what you post in the Executive Pay list. Federal employees..including retirees have not had a COLA for 2 years…inspite of the increase in the costs of food, rent/housing, transportation..everything.
Federal employees are already screwed with the Social Security offset. Even if they fully paid into Social Security..they only get approx 1/3 of what they would get if the Government hadn’t imposed the offset. This has been going on since the 1980s. Wonder what the government does with all the billions that Federal employees earned..but will never see.
