On Monday, the government shut down became official as the political charade streamed over the airwaves, television and newspapers across the country. The two wings from the same bird are holding America hostage and are even insulting our veterans.

Dozens of World War II veterans took to the Public Memorials at the National Mall on the first day of the shutdown, only to realize they were being barricaded and prevented from entering. The National Mall is in no way effected by the shut down and Park Police fall into the same category.[1]

The Park Police generally have little presence at the National Mall on normal business days, so why would they barricade the entrance to a public park paid for by tax-payers?

It turns out, some of our greatest heroes weren’t going to take no for an answer, The World War II vets decided to knock barricades over and enter the mall they rightfully have access to. It seems that once again the generation that saved the world, took the Obama Administrations show of force about as serious as his speeches.

Over the next week more than 500 veterans are expected to visit the National Mall and the Lincoln Memorial to pay their respects for our countries greatest heroes. The fact that President Obama, and the Gestapo he surrounds himself with are trying to prevent our military men from taking in this American value, once again shows the disdain he has for our men in uniform.
