Aspartame in Milk Without a Label? Big Dairy Petitions FDA For Approval

Two powerful dairy organizations, The International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA) and the National Milk Producers Federation (NMPF), are petitioning the Food and Drug Administration to allow aspartame and other artificial sweeteners to be added to milk and other dairy products without a label.

Aspartame in Milk Without a Label Big Dairy Petitions FDA For Approval

The FDA currently allows the dairy industry to use “nutritive sweeteners” including sugar and high fructose corn syrup in many of their products. Nutritive sweeteners are defined as sweeteners with calories.

This petition officially seeks to amend the standard of identification for milk, cream, and 17 other dairy products like yogurt, sweetened condensed milk, sour cream, and others to provide for the use of any “safe and suitable sweetener” on the market.

They claim that aspartame and other artificial sweeteners would promote healthy eating and is good for school children.

According to the FDA notice issued this week:

IDFA and NMPF state that the proposed amendments would promote more healthful eating practices and reduce childhood obesity by providing for lower-calorie flavored milk products. They state that lower-calorie flavored milk would particularly benefit school children who, according to IDFA and NMPF, are more inclined to drink flavored milk than unflavored milk at school.

Although the FDA considers aspartame to be a “safe and suitable” sweetener, a recent Yale University study appears to directly challenge the claim that aspartame would reduce obesity. In fact, the study concluded just the opposite, that artificial sweeteners actually contributed to obesity and Type 2 diabetes.

The IDFA and NMPF argue “that the proposed amendments to the milk standard of identity would promote honesty and fair dealing in the marketplace” yet they don’t want changes to the labels on dairy products.

Accordingly, the petitioners state that milk flavored with non-nutritive sweeteners should be labeled as milk without further claims so that consumers can “more easily identify its overall nutritional value.”

It’s unclear how consumers can more easily identify the overall nutritional value of milk products that are flavored with non-nutritive sweeteners without labels.

Quoting Section 130.10 of the Nutrition Labeling and Education Act of 1990, the dairy giants claim a new label is not required because sugar is added to milk without labeling it, and “the modified food is not inferior in performance” and “‘reduced calorie’ (labels) are not attractive to children” so marketing as such is of no benefit or detriment.

The FDA has opened public comments until May 21 for anyone interested to “submit comments, data, and information concerning the need for, and the appropriateness of, amending the standard of identity for milk and the additional dairy standards.”

They have destroyed the nutritional value in it through pasturization, added hormones and antibiotics to it because the living conditions are so deplorable…and to force the animals to produce more milk than is natural and now thay want to add poison! That’s our government hard at work trying to get rid of us!! lol

This needs to be sent to everyone you know and people need to get off their butts and write to the FDA. The link is in the article. Use your voice to object to them. Don’t act like a victim.

Dr Blaylock discusses Aspartame in his book, “Excitotoxins, The Taste that Kills”. After reading this book, I removed all artificial sweeteners from our diet. (However, if the FDA permits things to be added without labeling, I will continue to buy products that state the anti thesis such as NO artificial sweeteners and no GMO’s which is now showing up on products) I rely on 90% natural honey to sweeten up coffee, tea, and hot chocolate, from the local area (which helps build immunity to local pollen too).
Dr Blaylock outlines 30+ years of study of the Chamarro Indians of Guam (identified after World War II) that were found to exhibit ALS type disease at 50 to 100 times the world wide averages. Blaylock indicates in his book that the Initial thoughts were that the small community had inbreed exacerbating this problem (Thus a DNA problem). However, over a long period of research time, it appears that it was traced back to a particular plant, cyas circinalis, which was converted to flour and consumed over a very long period of time, which created a chemical Blaylock classified as Excitotoxins which tend to stimulate the brain neurons to death. On the back cover of Dr Blaylock’s book, Blaylock list monosodium glutamate, aspartame, cysteine, hydrolyzed protein, and aspartic acid as ingredients he defines as Excitotoxins.
Dr Blaylock pointed out in his book that very slow consumption of excitotoxins “that clinical symptoms of a degenerative neurological disease do not present until 80 to 90% of the specific cells involved are dead”. Pg 96
Review pages 92 to 96 of his book for details of the Chamarro Indians of Guam.
Here’s an interesting article from the ALS Association (Dedicated to fighting Lou Gehrig’s Disease)

I subscribe to the Blaylock Wellnes News Letter. This news letter has been adding to the book by defining chemicals that are in general defined as neuro toxins. The more I read about the massive increases in medical problems in the USA over the past 50 years, the more products I have converted to Certified Organic, non GMO, non high fructose corn syrup, and do research to make sure these products come from farms that have been verified. If it says Organic but comes from foreign countries, I don’t eat it as there is no way to trace back to verify it is organic or not.
Here’s a good web site to get you started to understand from a medical analysis point of view how these chemicals can work.

It is interesting to note, that the more I work on finding healthy food, the more I end up going to Natural Grocery Store to buy certified Organic dairy, fruits, and vegetables. As they provide the growing locations for those foods. I’m pretty much no longer eating big Ag produced Wheat, Soy, or Corn. Prepared. I cook from scratch over 95% of all that I consume. I have been planting fruit trees and am starting vege / mushroom gardening. I expect to convert from animal protein to other forms of protein in the next few years.

Another example of FDA supported illegal activity.
