(Hadith from Abu Hurayrah (RA)
According to one Hadith, Rasulullah (PBUH) said:
"It is my desire that Suratul Mulk should be in the heart of every Mu'min."
One of the blessings of reciting Surah Mulk is that it saves one from thepunishment of the grave. According to Hadith, when punishment is sent out to a person in the grave towards the legs, they (the legs) say: you may not punish him for he used to recite Suratul Mulk through me ( i.e. by standing in Salaah and reciting it); then when punishment is sent out to him to his chest, stomach and head, each of them say: you may not punish him for he used to recite Suratul Mulk through me. Hence this Surah saves him from the punishment of the grave. The virtue of this Surah is mentioned in the Tawrah (Torah) as well.
Virtues of Surat (67) al-Mulk (the dominion)
The Prophet (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: "A surah from the Qur'an containing thirty verses will intercede for a man so that he will be forgiven. It is the surah Tabaarak Alathi bi yadihi'l-mulk [Blessed is He in Whose Hand is the dominion](i.e., Surat al-Mulk).
"[Sunan al-Tirmidhi, Abu Dawood, and Ibn Maajah, Al-Tirmidhi said, this is a hasan hadeeth. It was classed as saheeh by Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah in Majmoo' al-Fataawa, 22/277, and by Shaykh al-Albaani in Saheeh Ibn Maajah, 3053]
عن أبي هريرة ـ رضي الله عنه ـ عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: إن سورة في القرآن ثلاثون آية شفعت لرجل حتى غفر له، وهي: تبارك الذي بيده الملك. رواه أبو داود والترمذي، وحسنه الألباني.
وعن ابن مسعود ـ رضي الله عنه ـ قال: يؤتى الرجل في قبره فتؤتى رجلاه فتقول رجلاه: ليس لكم على ما قبلي سبيل، كان يقوم يقرأ بي سورة الملك، ثم يؤتى من قبل صدره ـ أو قال: بطنه ـ فيقول: ليس لكم على ما قبلي سبيل، كان يقرأ بي سورة الملك، ثم يؤتى رأسه فيقول: ليس لكم على ما قبلي سبيل، كان يقرأ بي سورة الملك. قال: فهي المانعة تمنع من عذاب القبر، وهي في التوراة: سورة الملك ـ من قرأها في ليلة فقد أكثر وأطيب. أخرجه الحاكم وقال: صحيح الإسناد ـ ووافقه الذهبي.
