Engdahl is a smart man, and he may yet come to his senses; but he has a lot of reading of Marx to do, because as a young LaRouche protégé he used to speak about the "defunct ideology" of Marxism. Marx could see everything that Friedrich List saw, but he knew that nationalism was a dead end, not the panacea that LaRouche ideology thinks it is. One nation, one empire will always dominate another, and so economic and shooting wars will continue ("the same old crap"–Marx) until class society is brought to an end.
