I don't give a damn that this wasn't in the books. Still a badass scene. The humility of Legolas, the forgiveness and then welcome of Aragorn, the confidence of Haldir, and the humor of Gimli.
I hate that when I first saw Lord of the Rings, I thought that Boromir was the coolest character, and since they were the good guys, I didn't expect him to die, remember crying my eyes out, then when I saw Haldir, I was just the same way as I was with Boromir, then he died… Fuck me right?
This scene always makes me tear up. Can't help it. It's this one and Boromir's death. The two only things which can make grown man cry. (Oh, and then there's that one scene when Chuck Norris saves a deer in Walker Texas Ranger, but I was drunk then..)
Tons of archers and they let the one guy get to the wall that they needed to stop. Hey everyone, stop what your doing and take out that one guy.
Epic
I just won a slap bet over this
anyone else get chills when the elves are in?
2:08 Right when Legolas and Haldir were getting all romantic everyone turns around.
This f*ckin movie…SIMPLY IS THE BEST MOVIE EVER!

2:08 Its Prince Legolas! Lets all turn around and show him respect! :P
What happened to all the elfs at the end of the battle?
People might disagree, but I like this addition to the movies. This scene is so epic and ful of respect.

There were no elves at helms deep besides Legolas.
I thick they all die i hope
I'm wrong
Aragorn was a pretty unimpressive actor. Thats why Gandalf, the elves and all others took the show from him
Suit up!

The Elves made sure the defenses held even if they died.
