Troubling evidence surrounding the Deepwater Horizon explosion on April 20th suggests that the incident could have been manufactured.

On April 12th, just over one week before the Deepwater Horizon rig exploded, Halliburton, the world’s second largest oilfield services corporation, surprised some by acquiring Boots & Coots, a relatively small but vastly experienced oil
well control company.

The company deals with fires and blowouts on oil rigs and oil wells. It was responsible for putting out roughly one third of the more than 700 oil well fires set in Kuwait by retreating Iraqi soldiers during the Gulf War.

The deal itself is still under scrutiny with Boots and Coots facing an ongoing investigation into “possible breaches of fiduciary duty and other violations of state law”

Where this information gets really interesting is with the fact that Halliburton is named in the majority of some two dozen lawsuits filed since the explosion by Gulf Coast people and businesses who claim that the company is to blame for the disaster.

Halliburton was forced to admit in testimony at a congressional hearing last month that it carried out a cementing operation 20 hours before the Gulf of Mexico rig went up in flames. The lawsuits claim that four Halliburton workers stationed on the rig improperly capped the well.

As the New York Times noted on May 26th, “BP officials chose, partly for financial reasons, to use a type of casing for the well that the company knew was the riskier of two options,”

Workers from the rig and company officials have said that hours before the explosion, gases were leaking through the cement, which had been set in place by the oil services contractor, Halliburton. Investigators have said these leaks were the likely cause of the explosion.”

According to a 2007 study by Minerals Management Service, cementing was a factor in 18 of 39 rig blowouts in the gulf between 1992 and 2006.

Another intriguing connection Boots and Coots has to the Deepwater Horizon explosion comes via Pat Campbell, the man BP has employed to cap the well beneath the ruined rig. Campbell worked for Boots and Coots as general manager for many years.

BP has admitted to buying Yahoo and Google keywords in an attempt to control publicly available information in the wake of the catastrophe. It seems that the company is taking all the flack for the spill while the Halliburton link is being roundly ignored.

BP’s prepared testimony briefing, which has since leaked online, also intriguingly notes that the Hydraulic Control System on equipment designed to automatically seal the well in an emergency was modified without their knowledge sometime before the explosion.

“the extent of these modifications is unknown at this time” states the report on page 37.

Possible prior knowledge of the explosion is also evident via huge dumping of stocks and shares in the weeks and days prior to the incident.

Goldman Sachs dumped 44% of its shares in BP Oil during the first quarter – shares that subsequently lost 36 percent of their value, equating to $96 million.

Other asset management firms also sold huge blocks of BP stock in the first quarter. Though the amounts pale in comparison to Goldman’s holdings, Wachovia, owned by Wells Fargo, sold 98% of its shares in BP and Swiss bank UBS sold 97% of its BP shares.

Furthermore, as reported by the London Telegraph on June 5th, Tony Hayward, the chief executive of BP, sold £1.4 million of his shares in the fuel giant weeks before the spill.

In the days before the Deepwater explosion, Obama had announced a new effort to explore for and lease new drilling locations in the deep Gulf and in Alaska. In the wake of the disaster, these plans have been cancelled and BP is taking a PR bashing.

All of which has been capitalized on by the Obama administration to reinvigorate talk of a carbon tax and has created the opportunity to reintroduce the idea of nationalizing oil, which the Democratic leadership has long sought.

The full story of what is happening in the Gulf of Mexico is yet to emerge, there are rumours of more spills and an ongoing coverup. The site represents a $2.2 trillion source of wealth and power, a motive along with a plethora of suspicious activity that needs to be investigated further.

  1. First-class precise information here, thanks. I just like that the blog layout too, nice and clean k

  2. According to the right-wingers and pundits, President Obama could have and should have done more to stop the oil leak crisis in the Gulf. And once again, the president is facing political hypocrisy. Case in point:
President Barack Obama said Friday, June 11, 2010, that some members of Congress are being hypocritical when it comes to blaming the White House for its handling of the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
In an interview with POLITICO, the president said: “I think it’s fair to say, if six months ago, before this spill had happened, I had gone up to Congress and I had said we need to crack down a lot harder on oil companies and we need to spend more money on technology to respond in case of a catastrophic spill, there are folks up there, who will not be named, who would have said this is classic, big-government overregulation and wasteful spending.”

  3. That’s an amazing post. Thanks a lot

60 minutes were allowed to show a segment on yesterdays program. (13/6/2010, NBN TV) There were several points I queried. One a private video was shown taken by anglers who regularly fish in the area around the rig. One BP survivor, who actually jumped off the rig into the sea, from 10 stories high that is no mean feat. He tells that a safety valve had been damaged by a BP worker prior to the explosion. A meeting was held between the rig operators and a BP executive and he describes the meeting as bumping chests, and the BP representative insisted they go ahead without shutting down the rig for investigations.

One BP executive was on the program too. I found his comments contemptible. “Of course I regret this happened, we are trying to fix it – so I can back to my life.” Besides the terrible impact on marine and bird life in the area, loss of incomes of commercial fishers, the likelihood of them not being able to fix the problem, then what then. They are losing
13 million barrels a day. What about this spreading across the Atlantic, then get carried by the Gulf Stream to the Northern Atlantic and further a field.

And if Goldman Sachs are involved, the biggest Carbon trading and clean energy investment banks, well – this is just bully stuff to get the US A to incorporate carbon taxing.

Nasty people, very nasty people. Well Obama has suspended any off shore leases now.
But in his address and State of the Union, he mentioned he wanted to encourage off shore drilling of gas and oil, nuclear and clean energy industries, to compete with China and Europe in these industries.

A conspiracy? – well thank goodness for the Internet eh. I don’t like people feeling Britain is at fault. This drill or rig provides 25% of the US of As oil supply, and is owned by the US of A already and 27% by Kuwait.

Click the link and listen to the interview about the oil spill and how it could affect the Mississippi river, surrounding cities and “THE GREAT LAKES” AND the disaster that could result from it…!!

Folks this is scary…!! You may not agree with what Griff says about 9-11 etc, but what is happening in our Gulf is REAL…!!

Did any of you watch Anderson Cooper Tuesday evening and how he was refused access to the area where they are washing the oil off the birds and sea life..??? WHY would they do this..? WHY are they refusing homeowners to go on the beach down there..?? WHAT are they hiding…they tried to hide the REAL extent of the oil leak…now we see the TRUTH about THAT..!! Personally I wouldn’t put ANYTHING past the bunch in DC..and for SURE I wouldn’t believe or trust that FRAUD in our white house…!! He’s also a LIAR, has NO loyalty to our nation or us.

Just as they needed a 9/11 to bring in their war on “Terrorism.” A means by which they changed the WORLD in a moment of time. So here we have an oil disaster in the gulf that is going to lubricate the political and enviromental agenda of the globalists, that will give them the green light to bring in a world wide carbon control of all fossil fuels. This oil spill is not over yet, it has to spread further into the open oceans so as to move ALL governments to back, as they did after 9/11 the new global laws to further their control of that NWO they seek to impose on us all.
These meglomaniacs are playing with a living planet, and every living thing upon it, their godlike ego’s supported by their zimmer frames, and their leaking colostomy bags, dare to play God? These lumps of clay like cracked and chipped pottery are as frail and fragile as the system they have created, they are about to go the same way as it.
They follow in the path of all those of the past who have sought world domination, all those former rulers left were ruins, ruins which are but a tourist attraction today, for ruins are a sign of failure not success, except these old fools are about to leave a world in ruins.

Did Emanuel’s link to oil company compromise efforts to regulate it?

White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel

White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, WND has learned, lived rent-free in Washington, D.C., for years, thanks in part to a friend under contract with oil giant BP.

While the White House approaches “day 50” of the environmental disaster caused by an explosion on BP’s Deepwater Horizon oil rig, unable yet to stop the flowing crude in the Gulf, several media sources have questioned the administration’s efforts to regulate BP prior to the incident.

WND’s research further raises the question of whether the White House was compromised by Emanuel’s financial ties to the company.

Emanuel lived for five years rent-free in an apartment owned by Rep. Rosa DeLauro, D-Conn., and her husband, Stanley Greenberg, whose consulting firm was a prime architect in BP’s efforts to recast itself as a “green” corporation and recipient of hundreds of thousands of dollars awarded through a committee chaired by Emanuel.

Greenberg research helped reposition BP as a “green company”

The Greenberg Quinlan Rosner consulting firm’s website details a case study for client BP in which the firm “helped BP plan and evaluate its successful re-branding campaign, focusing the company’s branding on energy solutions, including the development of solar and other renewable energy sources.”

Greenberg Quinlin Rosner’s research also contributed to a $200 million advertising campaign in which British Petroleum attempted to shorten its name to “BP” and redesign its corporate insignia to emphasize a “Beyond Petroleum” theme.

Critics have characterized the BP advertising campaign prompted by Greenberg Quinlin Rosner research as “greenwashing,” a process in which corporations disingenuously portray their efforts as fitting into a politically correct, “green,” environment-oriented sensitivity to alternative energy.

Greenberg Quinlan Rosner is also tied heavily to the Democratic Party, as it created a sister political consulting company named “GCS,” an acronym based on the last names of the principals – Stanley Greenberg of GQR, James Carville, the long-term adviser of Bill Clinton, and Bob Schrum, the campaign manager for Sen. John Kerry’s unsuccessful 2004 presidential campaign.

    Emanuel’s money ties to Greenberg

Within weeks of Obama’s inauguration, newspaper reports discovered Emanuel living rent-free in DeLauro’s and Greenberg’s home and began asking questions.

“One issue is whether Emanuel, who served in the House with DeLauro until early January (2009), should have listed the room either as a gift or as income on his congressional financial disclosure forms,” Washington-based correspondent Andrew Zajac wrote in the Chicago Tribune on Feb. 24, 2009.

“A murkier question is whether Emanuel has a tax liability for the relationship,” he continued. “The matter may have particular sensitivity in the early days of an Obama administration in which at least four picks for high posts have had confirmations delayed or derailed by tax irregularities.”

Initially, DeLauro countered by issuing a statement that “we have no separate apartment in our D.C. house, no rental apartment,” claiming instead that bedrooms and living areas in the house “are often used by close family and friends.”

Dick Morris and Eileen McGann further commented in the New York Post that Emanuel “also served as chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee – which gave Greenberg huge polling contracts.”

“[The DCCC] paid Greenberg’s firm $239,996 in 2006 and $317,775 in 2008,” Morris and McGann wrote.

After consulting tax experts, Morris and McGann estimated that Emanuel’s rent-free income for the five years he lived in the DeLauro/Greenberg apartment “could easily add up to more than $100,000.”

At the time, Obama administration called BP a model for safety

Last year, the Associated Press reports, the federal Minerals Management Service, a part of the U.S. Department of the Interior, heralded the BP Deepwater Horizon rig as a model of safety, according to a May 16 Associated Press report.

Facing intense criticism for the failure of the Department of Interior to note problems with the Deepwater Horizon rig prior to the collapse, Interior Department secretary Ken Salazar announced last month a major reorganization breaking the Minerals Management Service into three divisions to split what Salazar called the conflicting duties of regulating oil companies while simultaneously collecting revenues from them.

Last week, Salazar announced that Bob Abbey, formerly head of the Interior Department’s Bureau of Land Management, was being reassigned to head and restructure the Minerals Management Service, replacing former director Elizabeth Birnbaum, who resigned suddenly under pressure for lax oversight in light of the Deepwater Horizon disaster.

In the announcement of Abbey’s appointment, the Associated Press noted, Abbey was being called upon “to reverse a culture in which regulators favored the oil and natural gas industry,” while oil and natural gas inspectors under Birnbaum’s management “accepted trips, gifts and other favors from the industry.”
