I like how you're like I wish I had more infantry and artillery and less Calvary/militia. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but from what I know of WWI, it was a lot like that in irl. While the actual infantry units were elite well disciplined soldiers, the beginning of the war saw outdated tech and conscripted infantry.

This is going to sound really, really stupid, but one of your goals as the Central Powers is to actually be at war with Japan. What I mean by that is you needed to fight (as the game puts it) Guerilla warfare in the Pacific. Handing them over the to Japanese counts as a failure of said War Goal. Same goes for Africa. Don't let the British or French take any of provinces in Africa; albeit you can only lose that war goal if you lose the war.
