Jim Carrey pokes fun at late NRA president Charlton Heston, gun owners in musical ‘Funny or Die’ spoof.

What would the late actor and former NRA president Charlton Heston say?

Hee-Haw Jim Carrey Mocks Gun Lovers & Charlton Heston In Spoof

In this Funny or Die spoof, Jim Carrey gives a finger to the late gun enthusiast, impersonating him along with the lead singer of a fictional band performing their chart-topping hit, “Cold Dead Hands.” The jingle pokes fun at Heston’s favorite slogan: “I’ll give you my gun when you pry it from my cold, dead hands.”

The tune also takes a jab at male gun owners. Carrey sings: “You’re a big, big man with a little bitty gland, so you need something bigger with a hairpin trigger.”

Drawing attention to the spoof on Sunday, Carrey wrote on his WhoSay account: “‘Cold Dead Hand’ is abt u heartless motherf%**ers unwilling 2 bend 4 the safety of our kids.” He continued: “Sorry if you’re offended by the word safety!”

While the negative backlash to the skit was undeniable, Carrey thanked his Twitter followers for their input:

“Thx 4 your input 2day. I don’t think i’ve ever felt so despised and so free at the same time. It’s been delightfully. ;^}” he wrote.
