Militarism Alliances Imperialism Nationalism are the MAIN reasons for WW1. Plus the trigger, the assignation of the arch duke. The industrial revolution led to deadlier battles and deadlier weapons which creates many more deaths. The unrestricted submarine ware fare, Zimmerman note, and the close economic ties with the allies dragged America into the war.

It's so cool how they based this war on battlefield 1

You heard it. To anyone who said they weren't scared when they went over the trench back then they are a damn lier. Now to all those who are bitching about dying a lot in a game who is set in a open ground battle instead a trench, machineguns instead of bolt rifles, if you were to serve in the war all you can do is die or go insane. Kill, killed or be killed by your own contry. Lie in a open ground which is constantly bombarded with explosive thunderstorm? If you were to come here and learn ww1 just remember they are not always like: "euuhhh the weaponz are sooo geuud looking but they shet cuz you have to shoot slow" "Oh look! The explosions environment are so kewl" " I die a lot because of faggots kemping!!! Also medics dont heal!!! People dont drop ammoo!!"

Please, stop with the Battlefield 1 comments.
We already get it, you came here because the new Battlefield made you interested in World War I. But please stop telling us, as we do not care.

I was hoping to read the comments to find conversations about this interesting documentary. Sadly it's filled with people explaining they came here because of Battlefield 1. I don't see how anyone would care what brought you here. You're here to learn, and that's that. PEACE OUT HOMIE DOG

WWI was extremely complicated. It didn't just happen. It start way before witht he rivalries in Europe which lend to unfair complcated treaties that made everthing ignite with World War I.

To understand World War I you need to understand the politics before the great war.

FUN FACT: Adolf Hitler was a trench runner in WW1. He delivered messages from trench to trench (quite possibly the most dangerous job on the battlefield).

Battlefield 1 got me interested. Nothing wrong with that, video games are fun. A learning experience can be found through anything if you have an open mind.

For some reason World War 1 is the most interesting war to me……such horrific conditions, such mass immediate loss of life….battles like Verdun and the Somme must have replicated Hell on Earth. If you could have made it through WW1 alive, I bet you could have survived any war.
