Well, first off, this is NOT from the BBC.
Second, the term and the concept of 'Illuminati' was a made up term and essentially does not exist – except perhaps the Bilderberg group. But the Bilderbergers should be researched separately. Freemasonry really does exist; but it's a leftover of the Masons of old. But then, there are lots of (generally smaller) secretive oganisations like the Prieure De Sion which claims to be holders of information about Christ's bloodline. And so on.
