Not going to trawl through 8,476 comments to see if this has been mentioned, but Middle C (C4) is not "exactly" 258.39 Hz, since tuning of tempered instruments is arbitrarily determined typically by the designation of A4. For a Pythagorean designation of 432 Hz, for example, C4 is 256.87 Hz. For A4=434 Hz, C4 is 258.06 Hz, and so on. The mainstream (and almost ubiquitous) use of A4=440 Hz gives C4 as 261.63 Hz. It's definitely in the ballpark though.

octaves are not the same thing as harmonics or overtones.
An octave is a doubling of frequencies. if C is 33hz, C one octave above that would be 66hz.
Harmonics are the overtone series. There are multiple overtones/harmonics. But they generally are accepted to be the basis of the major scale, which comprises the 6 notes other than root and octave. Such the intervals are 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6ht and 7th. 1st is the note you started from, 8th is that note doubled in frequency.
