With in just a few nukes, Russia would fall. However, there would be unimaginable mayhem by guerrilla forces and terrorists and it would look like modern Iraq * 10000000000.

There are no IFs in history. If you like to create fairy tales, you can do so but it makes no sense to try and estimate what would have happened because you can never "predict" the actions of people during the course of events that are so much out of hand as a world war.
Would the anti-air defenses stop the bombers? Would this army have enough resource to attack there, would this or that commander not make a horrible mistake / brilliant tactical decision to outwith the opponent and win against all odds or simply be lucky? You can never tell! That is what makes any effort to estimate what would have happened futile.

I think the better blan would be to nuke or bomb the Russian army camps.

we could have defeated the Russians easy i mean i could do it. Russia could not even defeat the Germans without the allies creating a second front. Russia would have lost in a few months.

Lol what would have happened? The west would be a smoldering ruin. No way a bomber would get through all the way to Moscow… no chance that this plane would have gone unnoticed. It would have been intercepted.

First off if you were to drop nukes in Russian territory they would instantly surrender much like the Japanese.

Secondly Russia back then wasn't a European power it was still almost a 2rd world country so little money and influence to keep countries under its control making it collapse under the huge amount of land. Much like almost every other massive empire.

Thirdly and lastly Russian soldiers were just peasants forced to fight which they wouldn't have been that good at when compared to German and British soldiers SHEER numbers mean nothing when you have radar, good pilots, Advanced technology for the time and most of the world to back you up as even though they wouldn't want to fight along side Germany central European countries would have to much like when Britain and Germany sided against Napoleon….Which France lost war even though We were at war with Germany at the same time also brings me to …Russia's biggest weapon was their climate that's why Germany lost WW2 and Napoleon lost fighting the east, Russia is just defensive they wouldn't make it to France especially Britain as it is east to defend

The author is leaving out that the US would also have all of their forces fighting Japan ready to fight the Soviets after Aug 1945. There would be parity in numbers. The Soviets also would have had enough after having such a harder fight against the Germans than the other Allies.

A single nuke at that time could wipe of tens of thousands of people at once. The air superiority of the USA allowed for this kind of bombing to happen. Therefore, the vast numerical advantage that the USSR had could have been reduced and given the UK and USA more of a chance.

Depending on who side you are on, this would have been the better alternative. You say it would have been little gain is very naive. IF Britain and US had effectively knocked out Soviet Union it would have prevented Koren war, Vietnam War, and countless other conflicts around the world instigated by Soviet Union against America. By seeing Operation Unthinkable through to its succession, you would have effectively knocked out 2 current day competitors to the West dominance of the world. China and Russia. The west would have uncontested free reign of the planet. The same could have been said of Russia if they had won this resulting war. They would have had control of 2 full Continents (Europe and North America). That was the biggest mistake America made following the war by not undermining Soviet Union progress knowing full well they stand against everything you stand for. Also to poke even more holes in your theory, Russia knew about the Nukes but had no "Nuke proof" bunkers built. They had not researched the effects of nukes on certain terrain and how to safeguard against it. So if one dropped the leaders such as Stalin would have been killed, increasing even more the chance of victory. Unless Stalin spy network was good enough to let him know about a nuclear attack ahead of time so he could move, he would have been taken out easily.

wait Russia lost 80 percent of the men in the country so 20 percent would not be that much against America and britain, both lost many men but America came in later I'n the war so their army would be bigger.

Interesting. And some good ideas in the comment section. No one mentioned that the U.S. still had a theatre in the Pacific. So the U.S. would still be fighting on 2 fronts. The vid mentioned dropping Little Boy on Moscow. Does that mean we'd also have to put boots on the ground in Japan? Of we would have created another atomic bomb and still nuke 2 Japanese cities, so that would go as planned still, that wouldn't change. But yes, the Soviets were kinda worn out from fighting the Germans, that could be an equalizer. We still had a good war machine at home.
