A great many of those who are here illegally did not sneak in. They came in on student visas, tourist visas, and work visas… and just never left. There is no mechanism for tracking when they leave, or if they leave. This is why a 'wall', except in a few vulnerable areas, will do no good, except for keeping out a few anchor babies, and starving people who just want to wash cars or mow lawns. There are a hundred other ways to get in, and a well financed enemy will always be able to manage one.
