Why should anyone fuss about three mini states in the Baltic? People are leaving, going to Germany for jobs, there is little there resource wise. and a very sizeable proportion of populations are Russian. They have never made much sense. Really though no one in Russia cares about the little Baltics unless there are hostile forces there. By "deterring" by putting forces in, you cause the exact opposite-you provoke.

No but NATO will attack and invade Kaliningrad and annex it to Poland and use the justification used for the annexation of Crimea. Poland after WWII annexed some land from eastern Germany so Kaliningrad will be a continuation of that. Poles will like having greater Poland.
