Turkish Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan has stepped up his criticism against the Israeli regime over Gaza war by comparing the Tel Aviv regime to the Nazi Germany.

Erdogan’s criticism of Israel comes as Ankara and Tel Aviv have diplomatic relations and other exchanges particularly in the military field.

During a meeting of the ruling Justice and Development Party on Friday, Erdogan said Israel’s genocide in the besieged Palestinian coastal enclave is reminiscent of Adolf Hitler’s genocide, adding, “What is the difference between what Nazis and Hitler did and what this Israeli administration is doing now?”

The Turkish premier also denounced the US-led West for its double-standard policies with regard to crimes across the globe, slamming the Western countries for remaining silent on the Israeli crimes.

Erdogan went on to say that when Muslim children are being killed, the West deems it legal, but when other states speak out against Israel, they are called anti-Semitic.

Erdogan has repeatedly accused the Israeli authorities of seeking systematic genocide of the Palestinians. The premier says the world witnesses similar acts by Israel on a daily basis.

The remarks come as over 1,500 Palestinians have been killed and upwards of 8,000 injured in 25 days of Israeli attacks on the impoverished Palestinian territory.

UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay has rapped Israel’s offensive in the Gaza Strip as “deliberate defiance” of international law. The UN Human Rights Council has recently passed a resolution, calling for an independent probe into Israel’s war crimes in Gaza.
