Sandra, I live in central Florida near Melbourne. God bless you!
Thank you Steven! Yes, the truth is what matters!
Hi Kevin, you present no evidence for anything.
JESUS IS NOT GOD !! CHRIST IS THE SON OF GOD OUR MOST HIGH FATHER.
1 Corinthians 8:6
There is one God, the Father, from whom are all things and for whom we exist, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things and through whom we exist.
— ALSO CHRIST SPOKE IN ARAMAIC SO HIS REAL NAME IS
Ea-shoa' M'shee-khah
[name of Jesus in Aramaic]
Eashoa' means, "the Life-Giver." Msheekha means, "the Anointed One." Eashoa' Msheekha: The Anointed Life-Giver.
Rick, your comment makes no sense. What evidence are you looking for?
primeraprim, it bothers me that you would say that Jesus is not God! If Jesus was not God in the flesh, there is no reason to believe that his sacrifice on the cross is sufficient to pay for our sins. The truth is that his blood sacrifice was sufficient though, and the scriptures clearly teaches us the deity of Jesus Christ.
Revelation 1:8 (KJV) 8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
John 10:30 (KJV) 30 I and [my] Father are one. 1 John 5:7 (KJV) 7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
Matthew 1:23 (KJV) 23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
Isaiah 9:6 (KJV) 6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
John 8:58 (KJV) 58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am. John 8:59 (KJV) 59 Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.
Only God can use the description "I am" to describe himself. Jesus said he was "I am", which meant he was God!
This description in the following verse is of Jesus at his second coming. Revelation 19:13 (KJV) 13 And he [was] clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
John 1:1 (KJV) 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:2 (KJV) 2 The same was in the beginning with God. John 1:3 (KJV) 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
Wow, the Word was with God and "the Word was God"! You get the picture now?
In Jn.20:17 Jesus said "I am ascending to my Father and your Father to my God and your God."
Jn.16:3 "And these things they will do to you because they have not known the Father nor me." Here he is distinguishing himself as another from the Father. Jesus separates himself from the Father in person but not in nature.
Mt. 26:39-42 In Gethsamane he prays three times to the Father in doing his will. Why does he ask for the Father to let this cup pass if he is God, Isn’t this like asking himself?
"While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and suddenly a voice came out of the cloud, saying, 'This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!'" (Matthew 17:5)
.
Then Philip said, 'If you believe with all your heart, you may.' And he answered and said, 'I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.'" (Acts 8:37);
'If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him,
"You have heard Me say to you, 'I am going away and coming back to you.' If you loved Me, you would rejoice because I said, "I am going to the Father," for My Father is greater than I.'" (John 14:28).
"Jesus said to her, 'Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, "I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God."'" (John 20:17).
"Jesus said, 'My doctrine is not Mine, but His who sent Me.'" (John 7:16).
I agree that there were times when Jesus spoke about his humanity as being obedient to the will of the father, but other times he made it clear that he was God and man. How else could Jesus live a sinless life in order to be the spotless lamb of God sacrificed for our sins?
