The early-mid 80s was a moment of real danger, the Soviet Union was in the hands of half-senile old Communists with a vast military, a decaying civilian economy and a deeply ingrained paranoia.
Thank heaven they and we got Gorbachev and not someone else.
Does anyone find this movie stupid? The fact that people are talking about what happened in the third person even though the whole world has been supposedly wiped out by nuclear war lol?
You people are lucky I don't have my finger on the button because I would push it. Then all of you HONKEY PETER PUFFERS can kick my big hairy black ass.
I know that this was supposed to be a mockumentary and all but, this conclusion was extremely offensive and lying. "There is no further historical record as to what happens next." If the world was now dead, then who created this film for us to watch? How are some of the principal players in the conflict able to give us interviews so soon afterwards then? That was cheap and lazy filmmaking to account for the filmmaker's lack of anymore real news footage to show us. Otherwise, it was well done up to that point I thought, but so disappointing in the end.
The threat of all-out Nuclear War has kept the peace and prevented any major wars since the WW2 use of the old A-Bombs. Sad way to keep the peace. Like a man who keeps his family together by threatening his wife constantly with "Murder Suicide". Not even the Soviets dared a major land war in Europe since end of WW2 but a lousy way of creating "Peace" by building tens of thousands of Thermonuclear Devices… We are merely Lucky that it worked out.
There is madman his called Vladimir Putin of Russia. His paranoid nationalistic and doesn't give shit about other nation's sovereignty.
Shit just I
I like how the Americans would not even think about using nuclear weapons, but just use it.

99 Fact a Find!
Creepy when the guy says there's no further historical record of what happens next.
Wow…that is nuts. Soshkin just couldn't handle that he'd lost the war in Germany, so he suicided by nuke, and took half the planet with him.
Real bright, buddy. Reeeeeaal fucking bright. :(
