This series was so freaking fantastic. It was scary, fascinating, and appealed to the tech geek all at the same time. Stuff like Skydiver or SID, or the elevator-office were pretty gimmicky individually, but together they added a lot of flavor to the series' universe.
And the music is still catchy as hell.
Holy fuck, The Simpson's Hit and Run remixed this!
It's hard to believe this wasn't a monster hit show
I really loved this series. But I always questioned one thing. The moon base interceptors carried one rocket each. Three interceptors equalling three rockets.
Now! It is assumed that the aliens are intelligent. So why did they only arrive in threes?
One of the best TV series of the times, I watched it on TV in black and white when I was around 11, then I downloaded it in the late 90's in colour, then I bought the whole series on DVD and watched about 5-6 years ago. They just don't make these series so good, too much CGI. Star-trek is another one than can be watched over and over again. The newest creations of Start Trek and Star Wars are just unwatchable. Some remakes don't stand a chance when confronted with the 70's, 80's productions and stories. I'll be watching for the Blue Ray version of UFO.
So a combination of Star Trek and Thunderbirds?
Watch out for them Mutons, guys. I hear their tough. Sectoids though are no sweat.
for me this is always gerry anderson,s best live action show, i never really liked space 1999 this show always seemed to have better plots and a better background story to it.
How oculd you NOT want to watch this show after an opening like that ???
Best quality I've ever seen.
Whats with the 1980s
1:05 and 1:08, Gabrielle Drake, sister of the great Nick Drake.
Aaah! The golfball typewriter printers. I remember programming those things back in the early 1970s. If they got stuck the word "BRAKE" came out as "B£APE".
Cheesey but fun! Loved Buck Rogers in the 25th century show too.
0:47: It's the "Milk Tray" man. Gary Meyers!
I watched UFO many, many times on HD NET via
Dish Network several years ago. It was razor sharp
and easily as good as anything we have today but
it was not in the 16×9 format we have today.
I hope Shout Factory! releases a blu-ray for the US, but I'm guessing that won't be until its 50th Anniversary in 2020…
1:06 Katy Perry debut
0:25 Dat ass.
