I saw a game of this mod where the exact same thing with the Ottomans happened where the Austrians poured through them, and trust me the invasion won't really effect how the Ottomans fair in WW1, if you decide to still want to ally with them. They should still attempt to ally with you and fight just as bad as they would anyway, literally just being a distraction, and I'm pretty sure Austria won't keep that land in the Balkans anyway, it should split up between the Balkan League after the Italians get Libya
I've played enough hours as Germany to affirm that, as Mr. Benjamin said tech is very very important, let's remember that we are in ww1 the army's weapons are old and even the slightest advantage in strategy, artilery naval weapons means victory or defeat. Make sure you keep your colonies alive and keep the english channel dominated by you or you will starve in a couple of months. I like this mod because is much harder to reach victory by using the best tech available
Ben, don´t get excited about Italy, they betrayed the Central Powers in ww1 (also investigate something about it so you´ll see shit coming).
It pisses me off that the American school system is too ignorant to teach foreign history it's all USA.
Germany, Italy, Austria-Hungary were allied to face France, Great Britain, and Russia. this later dissolved from Austria wanting to declare war on Serbia even after they accepted the ultimatum.(GB, France, Russia were still allied that's why they were called the triple entente. they became the allies after Russia lost and America joined)

I think the events followed on like this:Historically italians declare war on Ottomans for libyan conquest(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Italo-Turkish_War) and you got the italians in the central powers.Austrians got the join war invite from italians or auto war i guess.
I think you should go back to your older saves and wait until italians finish their war with the ottomans just for the sake of historical gameplay.
What i'm also thinking right now because historically italians ditched out central powers in the middle of the war.Italy or the UK might get an event for switching sides.So don't trust italians blindly maybe deploy some garrison divisions along the Austria-italian border.

Ben you should take Denmark for the extra port and a far as the navy if you lose there will be trade through the Baltic sea from Great Britain to Russia so it would help to limit their ability to trade especially if Sweden joins you, but if Sweden joins you may have to send troops to help Sweden of course i don't know much about H O I still even though i have been watching you since your first German campaign. But i wish if you had artillery on the coast you can use them to hurtdestroy there convoys
Honestly, I really like this series. If he wants to play a WWI mod and the majority of people want to watch it, then it's fine. And who really knows anything about WWI anyway. Everybody knows WWII is where it's at. I would like to see him play as a minor like Sweden or Portugal; might add a new element. I also recommend another Victoria 2 game because that game is great. Love the channel and get well soon!
you should have played France the only reason they haled out was because of the timely intervention of the U.K. and Russia forces, and incontinence of the generals of the new ways of war. to learn more about i suggest you look up the youtube The Great War. they go into death about the war on a day by day basses.
getting Japan on your side would be a big boom to your cause. Historically many of Germany's Asian holdings fell to the Japanese these areas had some resource values to Germany and after the war allot of Germany's holdings in Asia where given to Japan. Having Japan with you rather than against you makes it far easier to defend your holdings in Asia.
