Low arrivals? How on earth is a plane supposed to land if it isn't 'LOW' ????

One great spotting point was the roof of Building 26 (The Gray Ghost) on board Naval Regional Medical Center San Diego.  We used to joke that if the planes had one more coat of paint, they wouldn't have made it.

Drove by KSAN for 14 years and never realized how famous it was for crowding and low arrivals until a few weeks ago.

…sitting on the Carnival Spirit on a low-IFR afternoon waiting to cruise, watching the flights go MISSED – quite entertaining – glad we came in the day before.  Bound to have been some folks that didn't make the cruise – circling around up there…

why do they all land so far down the runway? I know the part with the arrows is for takeoffs only but even when taking that into consideration they seem to land very far from the start of the runway

I just spent two months in San Diego and now wish I took the time to Planespot. I did get to watch some fly overhead at Balboa Park though!

I just uploaded a video of my departure from SAN just recently on a United Airlines Boeing 737-800 to SF. First of many more to come
