There is not one Creation legend in Hinduism. There are a variety based on different teaching modalities and what is being communicated. These are all symbolic constructs to express abstract metaphysical truths. The Seers long ago said, "It is not possible to discover the final cause of the universe by reason means of reason based on sense experience. Thus, the Seers followed a meditative path of intuitive knowledge." (Svetasvatara Upanishad 1.3). These legends are those intuitive experiences.

The core is the most important and that is the reality that all that exist is Consciousness (Shiva Sutra 1.1). "In the beginning all this verily was Atman only, one without a second. There was nothing else that winked. He then bethought Himself, 'Let me now create the worlds.'" (Aitareya Upanishad 1.1.1).

Hinduism is a practise where you seek enlightenment, not a religion. You won't find questioning where faith exists
