NATO has and still has battlefield nuclear weapons that would been used pretty quickly if fighting had broken out there. For one Warsaw Pact Forces would of been too many for NATO 's forces too combat against. Two battlefield nukes were deterrent toward any Soviet invasion in West Germany. Three NATO would of deployed chemical weapons against any attacking Warsaw force.
this movie was ALMOST interesting and believable…. up until the point where the soviet union attempts a blockade of …. ALL OF EUROPE AND ENGLAND?????? I am pretty sure the british would unilaterally sink every fukking ship the soviets had LONG BEFORE they could even get close enough to create the blockade. Obviously the makers of this movie dont remember world war 1 or world war 2. Nor have they ever set foot on the British Isles.
Imagine ur one of those pilots climbing into that fighter and then u think through what's happening and u suddenly say in ur head "oh god world war 3 just started,"
I wonder if anyone remember the Coup that occurred in the Soviet Union in 1991. When KBG hardliners & other hardliners in the government arrested Gorbachev, to seize control of the Politurbo government. The coup failed because they did not arrest Yeltsin, as a result Yelstin quickly organized a resistance & the coup eventually failed. That event contributed to the eventual collapse of the Soviet Union.
But there is these "what if" that make you wonder, like this miniseries. What if the coup had succeeded? Just makes you wonder… and sometimes speculating is fun.
